19 of Medvedev's twenty-one championships have been won on hard courts

A revitalized Daniil Medvedev claimed his first trophy for over two years with victory over Corentin Moutet in the tournament title decider.

The Russian, a ex- top-ranked player, has experienced a torrid period, achieving just one match at the big events and undergoing a meltdown at the New York tournament.

His unpredictability on the professional circuit - and struggles with his service game in specific - caused him exiting of the top ten and eventually parting ways with former coach Cervara.

Presently training with Johansson and his other coach, Medvedev has consistently improved in the recent weeks - climaxing in a hard-fought three-set win over Frenchman Moutet.

It is the player's maiden title following the 2023 Rome Masters and maiden on a hard surface after March of that year.

The win also indicates the Russian has won 21 victories at 21 distinct competitions.

"For the first time I am participating in a competition with my both daughters together, so to get a trophy is really nice," commented tennis professional the champion.

"This title is in tribute of my child her name, because the maiden victory I got when my older daughter Alisa was born was for her."

Medvedev, the past champion, had been defeated in his previous six championship matches, comprising in the German tournament previously this season.

Medvedev's retrieving strategy and recurring emotional displays on the playing surface had led some to question if his ability to compete at the highest level was over.

However the athlete has altered his approach in the last few weeks, making an effort to advance forward and perform positively, reinforced by an enhanced serve.

The champion recovered from a disadvantage in the opening set against the difficult Frenchman, securing four of the final five exchanges to take the lead.

The pair swapped break points in the middle set before the challenger, striving for his first professional championship, took control to push for a decider.

He defended four early break points in a competitive third set before Medvedev secured a break to fifteen to serve for the match.

Fittingly, Medvedev clinched the title with a shot at the net, with the Frenchman incapable to manage a return after a lengthy match.
